Bob Pedde
Bob brings 17 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles at the US Department of Energy Savannah River site – the US equivalent of Sellafield. As President of the Washington Savannah River Company from 2001 to 2007 he successfully realigned 13,000 personnel and a budget of $1.6 billion a year toward meeting new site objectives, including accelerating environmental clean-up and increasing mission opportunities. Bob’s ability to lead Sellafield safely through an era of significant change is underpinned by his broad nuclear operations expertise. He has overseen the design, construction, commissioning, operation and decommissioning of reactors, high-level waste management and vitrification, plutonium reprocessing, tritium production and multiple low-level waste disposal sites.

High Active Waste departs UK for The Netherlands

Local innovation helps pave the way for decommissioning
An 18-month characterisation project using laser and gamma scanning technology within the early primary separation plant at Sellafield has now been completed, paving the way for future decommissioning work to begin.
